Here are my Priorities:

* Housing Squamish can afford.  

Creative solutions are needed. Our young families, workers, and seniors are looking for housing that is affordable and fits their needs.  We need new rental options, Coliving.com (which can provide housing alternatives under $1500 per month) and new housing communities suitable for young families.

* Seniors.  

Seniors need more options, community-based solutions that help seniors age safely at home for as long as possible.  I think the 55 Activity Centre is doing good work for seniors. Bravo! I will continue to lobby the Provincial Government for more long-term care beds in the Sea to Sky Corridor.

* Arts, Culture, and Heritage.  

Arts, Culture and Heritage are fundamental to our past, present and future.   I want to develop a “Squamish Identity”, inspiring and nurturing the creative community through arts, culture and heritage development, partnering with Squamish Nation.  Let’s work together to create more facilities, engaging

residents of all ages, ethnicities,

cultural backgrounds and abilities.

* Our Natural Environment. 

This needs to be protected and made accessible to all.  We need to take wildfire and flood preparedness seriously.  The environment is a huge part of why we live here and that is why we owe it to each other to protect it.  I believe it is past time to review and effectively communicate our Squamish Evacuation Plan, in case we need it.

* Parks and Recreation.

I support the district’s Recreation Centre Task Force strategy to expand the recreation centre and other facilities.  I hear the calls for an expanded recreation centre, a second rink, a larger aquatic facility and shorter waiting lists for popular programs like swimming lessons.  I support these initiatives and would investigate the options of private and public-private partnerships.

* Respect for Everyone.

I am very conscious of bias, based on race, gender,

age, disability, and sexual orientation.  These have no place in our community.
